Hampstead Hive Member Spotlight - Ainsley Keller

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS..

Step parenting can be a tough "gig" but it can also be a lonely one.  With so many relationships to manage, step parenting can be complex, overwhelming, challenging and sometimes it feels like you just can't get it right.

At the Step Collective we firmly believe that with the right support and mindset we can turn this potentially stressful situation into a space for optimism and a more harmonious family.  Through 1:1 and group coaching, we empower stepparents to navigate their role with intention, resilience and a deeper understanding.

From my own experience, I learned that there was a significant gap in professional support available for stepparents.  I wanted to change that, so that parents no longer had to figure it out on their own, don't have to "hope for the best", or feel like outsiders.  We help you manage that complexity and take control.

A bit more about me:  I have first-hand experience of life as a step parent coupled with decades of experience as a corporate director and leadership coach.  I've combined my passion for nurturing and developing individuals with positive change to harness healthy & empowered family relationships.  I am proud to be accredited as an Associate Credentialed Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST BUSINESS ACHIEVMENT SO FAR?

For me, it's not about a single achievement.   The joy of being a Coach is witnessing people's lives transforming for the better in each and every session.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE NEXT?

While my focus has been on 1:1 sessions the past few months, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of a small group program in the Spring of 2024. Many step parents feel isolated, especially early in their journey, as the experience is so unique and few can truly relate. This program aims not only to provide perspective, tools, and confidence through coaching but also a community where step parents can learn from and support each other.  Please reach out if you would be interested in hearing more.

WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU LIKE TO OFFER SOMEONE THINKING OF ENTERING INTO YOUR FIELD?

For aspiring coaches, my advice is to train with a reputable school, aiming for accreditation with a major coaching body like the International Coaching Federation.  Also, Coach as much as you can - on anything and everything. It's the best way to grow confidence, gain a breadth of experience and learn where you can truly add value in the space.  Also, I  would suggest that you work with a Coach yourself (or maybe a few different ones).  The more you understand the process inside and out, the better.

What is your favourite aspect of working in the local area?

I love the diversity and passion of our community. The local step parents that I work with all have a genuine desire to make their own life and that of their families the best it can possibly be.  Also, what could be better than starting the day with a walk on the Heath...especially right now when the trees are changing colour.

WHAT ENCOURAGED YOU TO JOIN HAMPSTEAD HIVE AND WHAT HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE HIVEBEEN LIKE SO FAR?

I joined The Hampstead Hive to help  spread the word about what I do and meet and support fellow female business owners in the local area.  I have had such a warm welcome to the group and already met such an inspiring group of women...I just wish I joined sooner!
