Hampstead Hive Member Spotlight - Rimmy Bedi Whaley

Tell us about your business, what services do you offer

Hi, I’m Rimmy, and I established my niche immigration practice, Bedi Law, in 2014 having previously worked in Legal 500 law firms and “big four” professional services firms.

I live and work in Hampstead, providing immigration legal services to individuals, families, and businesses across the UK and overseas. It has also been a pleasure to provide advice to many members of the Hampstead Mums and Hampstead Hive community. NW3 and NW6 are a very important part of my business journey and will continue to be so.

As a niche immigration practice, I pride myself on offering a genuine personal, hands-on service to my clients and making a difference to peoples’ lives. By instructing me, you really do get me, along with my 25 years immigration experience.

What is your greatest business achievement?

I train solicitors and barristers across Europe on immigration law, how to ensure success on cases, and updates in legislation and caselaw. This allows me to always be on top of the game. Immigration law is ever changing as such being able to advise clients on all updated rules allows us to ensure success.

Having clients who have had cases refused prior to speaking with Bedi Law, being able to turn these into positive decisions is hugely satisfying especially when other lawyers have advised the case has no merit!

Nothing beats the sense of achievement than when a previous client recommends me to their friends or family.

What do you want to achieve next?

Running Bedi Law has been a fantastic adventure, I’ve met some interesting people many of whom I stay in regular touch with. Immigration is ever evolving, with constant rule changes in the UK and of course geopolitical developments around the world, so continuing to track and respond to the changing landscape is essential. I would like to continue to grow my practice and involve myself more in the local business community, so that I become the most well-known immigration lawyer in the area.

What piece of advice would you like to offer someone thinking of entering your field?

Always listen and manage client expectations. When entering the legal profession, I feel success is natural when you treat a client as if they are your family, with the same care, attention, and support. There are often a few suitable options when presented with all the facts, so it is crucial to provide the option that can save your client time and money.

What is your favourite aspect about working in the local area?

I have a 10-minute walk to work and love working in the heart of Hampstead, which has a cosy friendly village feel. When the weather is good, I often take time out at Hampstead Heath and take client calls there. I also enjoy the fact a large part of my client base is local, so it’s easy to meet up, which helps add a personal touch to the services I provide.

What encouraged you to join Hampstead Hive and what has your experience within the Hive been like so far?

I have a lot of clients in the Hampstead area so when I heard about Hampstead Hive, particularly with its focus on promoting and supporting women in business, I was interested to know more. Much of my business comes through referral from existing clients, so being active in the local business community and getting great results for my clients is important to help grow my business. As they say – satisfied, happy customers are the best form of marketing! Hive support is great.

Where can we go to find out more about your business/access your services?

Above all I love talking directly to people about what I do and my business and am always happy to have an initial chat with members of the Hampstead Hive community to discuss potential options without obligation. For an overview, people can find further information at:
