The Engine Rooms - Welcoming the new Mediterranean inspired restaurant in Highgate

The Engine Rooms is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant that has recently opened in the Highgate area.

We were thrilled to be invited for lunch in their outdoor courtyard recently and pleased that we can share our experience with the Hampstead Mums community.

The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere is matched with a truly interesting and unique interior. If you are a classic car lover this restaurant is for you, with views directly into next doors “Hexagon” classic car showroom – if you child likes to gaze at a classic car you will definitely be on to a winner bringing them here!

The courtyard is perfect for al fresco dining, luckily when we visited the sun was shining beautifully, however we have been reassured that they intend to keep their customers warm and dry with heating and a canopy roof to accommodate the variable British weather!

We had the pleasure of meeting head chef James Harrison, who has created a truly exquisite menu that focuses its Mediterranean flavours on fish and vegetable seasonal dishes. We were also pleased to hear that they are dedicated to sourcing and serving the best British ingredients with over 80% of the produce within the menu being seasonal British ingredients.

The food was truly beautiful, we couldn’t fault what we ate and we highly recommended the Burrata starter, the summer squash risotto and if you want to indulge thee parfait is truly worth it!

This is most definitely somewhere we will be visiting regularly, perfect for a lunch with friends, a date night or a special treat for the kids.
