Tell us about your business, what services do you offer?

I run the London branch of Happy Families Nanny agency and cater to London based families. We specialise in sourcing high quality childcare for families, including nannies (both permanent and short-term/temporary positions), live in and live out roles, parents helps and sole charge nannies.

What is your greatest business achievement so far?

Every placement I make gives me a great sense of achievement…!! knowing I’ve found a lovely job for my registered nannies and a very special nanny for my clients. However, if I had to chose one thing, I’d say I was pretty chuffed to receive was an award for being the most caring nanny agency in 2022.

What do you want to achieve next?

I like to imagine that Happy Families Nannies will continue to grow in success. I’m proud to run an agency that promotes excellent values and morals. I hope that we will continue to be seen as personable and a unique agency that provides an excellent service to both families and nannies.

What one piece of advice would you like to offer someone thinking of entering into your field?

Only start a nanny agency if you have a genuine passion to help and support families with their most precious gifts of all….their children…! I worked closely with children in schools and nannying for over 15 years and have a great respect for the special childcare givers that care and support children to strive and achieve their potential. You also need a lot of patience and empathy for client/childcare professionals individual situations.

What is your favourite aspect about working in the local area?

One of the reasons I love working in the local area is because I grew up in Hampstead! I love engaging with local families of whom I can relate to being a parent myself. I understand the pros and cons (i.e. parking space challenges!) in the area and the wonderful selection of children’s activities and classes on offer. I feel I can relate to my clients in so many ways being a North Londoner myself and therefore can help the prospective nanny visualise the role and area before they decide to go for an interview. Ultimately, the family and nanny have to have a mutual understanding, willingness to unite and have like minded values.

What encouraged you to join Hampstead Hive and what has your experience within the Hivebeen like so far?

I became part of the Hampstead mums group some time ago. I had noticed the Hampstead Hive group and loved what it stood for!! supporting others, helping to boost confidence, encouraging like minded people and supporting those who have a business that they’re passionate about. I have felt very welcomed and feel a sense of sisterhood, support and care from the group. So far, it’s been a truly lovely experience! Having a group of like minded hard working women gives me confidence, insight (into the challenges and rewards that we all, as business owners, face), and especially a lovely social network where we all meet regularly to discuss life and work balance.
